Reclaim New York, a Manhattan based non-profit just announced a New York Transparency Project, an online searchable data base that includes spending data for 175 government bodies in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

The site, reclaimnewyork.org (available on this web site) will grow to include more than 3,400 government bodies’ state wide, updated annually.

Reclaim this year submitted Freedom of Information Law requests to 253 LI government bodies, including 97 villages, and 125 local school districts.

I have reviewed the content available and recommend its use.
